The Under 9s tested themselves against a higher tier Hillmorton (Hawks) team in readiness for next season and performed superbly in a tight 1-1 draw. The football played was superb and GNP flew into the lead after a sweeping move which ended with Elio crossing for Saavun, who fired coolly from 12 yards into the far corner. 1-0 could easily have become more as GNP attacked relentlessly, including another great move involving Arjun, from which Saavun struck the post. Hillmorton remained dangerous though and grabbed the equaliser on 15 mins after a fine cross and tap in finish past Prabhvir. After that, the game was very even and could have seen many more goals with clear chances for Arjun & Elio among others, but ended all square, with Cinar taking MotM honours with an imperious defensive performance. Every player upped their performance levels significantly vs last weeks disappointing friendly. A big thank you also to Karam, who made a guest appearance in an unfamiliar midfield role due to Ayden & Jan's absence.

Overall a very promising performance against one of the strongest teams in this years Tier 2 - bodes well for next season when GNP should be competing at that level. Well done boys!
